Short Story Notes

A & P by John Updike\nThe following musical passage is when Sammie the 19-year-old boy cease his personal line of credit at the topical anaesthetic passing market A&P. Sammie is variationctional on a thorium afternoon and in go up 3 girls wearing away cleanse suites. All three girls be judged in his eyes and he goes into detail more or less what he sees. The first maven is queenie who seems to be the leader of the group of girls. Since totally 3 girls argon wearing nothing only their bikinis they argon asked by the film director Lengel to leave, who get on withs in from, haggling with a truck full of cabbages on the green goddess and is about to scuttle into that opening marked MANAGER(21).They are asked to leave the store and come back when they are dressed. Sammie go steady this happening and decided he wants to quit. When he quits he does not want to be like the sheep he calls the costumers or every one else. Sheep seem to follow one another and stop when on e stops and so on. Sammie quits because he wants to impress these girls. He is immature still however then realizes that the girls are not there anymore and he has now stepped into a recent world regardless of what his parents and his manager want.\n\nMiss brill by Katherine Mansfield\nThe following passage is about Miss Brill and her rough-cut realism. Miss Brill is an aged lady who spends her Sunday afternoons at the park-watching people. There is nothing untimely with watching people but she believes that she somehow impacts their lives or that she is unconnected of these strangers lives. She has been enjoying her usual Sunday afternoon at the park until she notices a young pas de deux talking about her. The young couple states that they dont understand why she is level at the park and make fun of her pelt. She leaves upset and doesnt even go get her deary pastry at the local bakery because she is upset. Miss Brill is a lonely womanhood who creates fantasies in her mind . The fox fur represents her status in spirit and her escape in reality because she realizes what her life really is which is in the ...
